About this type of bit : The KY Rotary ball joint aims at providing the horse with supreme comfort and increase control at all times.
The 360 degree revolutionary ball joint gives results for both the horse and rider. Unlike most bits, both halves of the bit are of equal length, this allows even feel on the rein.
Control is enhanced by the 'Rotary" ball being placed in the centre of the horse's mouth. The action created by this enables the two sides of the bit to turn independently of each other in a smooth silent motion.

The loose ring snaffles make a more mobile bit than an egg butt or fixed cheek bit, which should encourage your horse to keep a relaxed jaw and mouth the bit
- This bit is also useful for gaining contact as the movable mouthpiece enables the bit to fit the mouth, contour the tongues natural position and sit comfortably
- The lozenge shaped link contours the tongue and forms a true contact
- The lozenge uses tongue pressure to encourage the horse to go on the bit and lower the head, it has bar and lip pressure but not a ‘squeezing’ action like that of a bit with a single joint.
- The more joints a bit has the less likely the horse is to lean as the bit becomes more mobil.

This offers a softer action on the palate - for horses who resist the "nutcracker" action of the single jointed bit.
The pelham bit is used with both snaffle and curb reins but unlike a Weymouth & Bradoon, it only has one mouthpiece. Use of the curb rein acts on poll pressure and chin (via the curb chain), while direct pressure on the snaffle rein acts on the side of the mouth.
